"Querida,... você já colocou esse telefone?"
Kim asks Sabrina a bit frustrated.

"Sorry, mom. It seems I'm hooked,"
Sabrina responses, instantly shutting down her search
perched on a small stool at the island
lurching for daikon chips on which to munch.

"But, I'll unhook my device to help you cook,"
she grins as she loudly crunches while texting Wayne
to ask for one more hour him to be detained
as she gazes into flames under a boiling pot
hanging in a kitchen fireplace years to now
wonderfully maintained.

"I just find the world fascinating. So much to read.
Though, indeed, that too can become so draining"
she clicked with speed.

"Sim, querida. When I was younger
if you weren't home you no talk on the phone.
You enjoyed someone's company
or were just alone.

Maybe that's why people always so sad.
Constantly reading all in the world bad."

"Mom, you just may have a valid point.
I need to reread an article:
The Mobile Phone--Friend or Foe? sometime tonight.

Afterwards, I'll let you know if impossible for me to give up the phone fight?" Sabrina reaches over to rustle her hair.
Their new comradery now familiar and without compare.

Kim giggles as she continues to prepare
(Pho Bo)^ Hanoi Beef and Rice Noodle Soup
for she, Sabrina and Wayne to share.

Kim needed to check Wayne out
since with her daughter he traveled about.

Having internal doubts she first wanted to know
more about this young man
once devoted to her husband
a great love he did show.

Not really nervous about serving her Vietnamese cuisine
with Wayne's father being Korean she needed to glean
his feelings on Sabrina's mixed history.

Mainly, how Wayne's father thinks about she
as maybe Wayne's mother-in-law to be.

And what type life will Sabrina see
if father holds Wayne's mind
like strong bark on a tree?

Mixing cultures is beautiful,
and difficult as marriage is already.

Sabrina showed her its referred to as "tribulation in the flesh". 1 Cor. 7:28. And if one is young, waiting is best.

But Kim wonders if Sabrina will surely wait.
Because has she changed her habits
of running with Wayne,

which waiting does dictate?

As Kim watched Sabrina ready rice
she thought of how to introduce proverbs Vietnamese
of which Sabrina should think of more than twice:

Nhai kĩ no lâu, cày sâu tốt lúa
("Chewing carefully makes one feel full longer, ploughing deep is good for the rice") = Careful execution brings better results than hasty actions.

For chán cơm thèm phở ("Inappetence of rice, desire of noodle") = A men gets bored of his wife and find another girl.

As a mother concerned
she hoped that Sabrina would heed her advice... TO BE CONT'D
