Two of her congregational elders with Sabrina
stopped by Burger World after service.

Enjoyed casual talk at a corner table
to alleviate Sabrina being nervous
as a lunch crowd loud eventually thinned so they could themselves hear.

Enjoyed, they did, delicious burgers and curly fries
chased down with one's particular favorite--
a pitcher of old fashioned root beer.

Then the conversation did turn.
Sabrina thinking her eyes would soon burn.

Yet, these two over years watching Sabrina did discern:
She was intelligent, kind, with an honest desire to learn.

"Sabrina, our ability to form mental pictures of things we have not seen is a gift from God... It allows us to make wise plans. Allows us to look forward to good things.

So, ask yourself what type of life you visualize with Wayne.

Let your musings be based on reality not mere fantasy
as if on a flying elephant you two to vast skies will rise."

Elder one smiles. Elder two continues with amusement crinkling his kind eyes.

"Not to say, in the future your love may yet soar. But for now do you intend to walk through that matrimonial door?

Is that your final decision before other options to seriously explore?

You are still young.

True love does not flee if given more time.
It is like refined wine 'kept on the dregs'.
Growing intensely more divine."

After a waitress refills their water glasses
Elder one interjects a question on his mind:

"Sabrina, do you feel rushed because of these 'last days'?

Feel the need to speed marriage
since your 'hope' is for heaven always
and events around the world
show the fulfillment of God's purpose for the earth
is only moments away?"

Sabrina felt that he may have hit upon some truth.
Unveiled her mind to further examine. Give proof
of why for her recent hasty decisions. Her reasons.

While inside her heart she feels Wayne is border lining
spiritual treason.

She wanted loyal to Wayne be.
Not to disclose her doubts about he.
Hoping he'll regain his equilibrium spiritually.

Yet, she saw what the elders and her mom saw:
A premature commitment hamstringing her freedom
to glide into her natural stride.

Not unearthed one's personal abilities
as infatuation hurries. Keeps one 'blind'.
Real flaws may temporarily hide.

So in wisdom, one must with knowledgeable others
in earnestness confide before embarking on a course
which may take you speeding in lust down raging rapids
doomed in tragedy to definitely collide.

Divorce, disease, unwanted pregnancies,
broke, with only vagrants
to of necessity
unhappily abide.

Elder one picks up the check
still giving Sabrina scriptures on which to reflect.

"Sabrina, keep the faith. Remember...
"Faith is the assured expectation of what is hoped for,
the evident demonstration of realities that are not seen." He. 11:1.

"While we keep our eyes, not on the things seen, but on the things unseen. For the things seen are temporary, but the things unseen are everlasting." 2 Cor. 4:18. "For we are walking by faith, not by sight." 2 Cor. 5:7.

"Moreover,

without faith it is impossible to please God well,
for whoever approaches God must believe that he is
and that he becomes
the rewarder of those earnestly seeking him." He. 11:6."

He laughs at Sabrina's expression
as he rattled off the verses he previously rehearsed.

Sabrina, knowing within herself he was right.
Since, in Wayne's presence her willpower was slight like a dandelions' seed on the wind.

His loveliness a distaction withering her might. Her loyalty to Jehovah's morality to weakly bend.

Why inclined to marriage her desires to lend.

"All these scriptures you know very well.
It just, you're also in college, your studies to excel.

With this and an engagement engaging your brain
you can lose sight of the big picture under emotional strain.

So, step back and slow down your thoughts
to mediate also upon these that you ought.

Remember, to daily read and feed
upon God's Word. His holy spirit to pray for.

Strengthening you to continue with
your fine qualities. His direction to heed.

Be assured:
If you keep up this righteous routine

You will by no means fail.
You'll always forward proceed."

Sabrina wanted to cry. Blinked rapidly to dry.
Then shook both their hands knowing their desires
were not simply to pry. But to help her keep her focus.

And not on emotions
or the heart treacherous
to unwisely rely.

The following came back to mind as they dropped her off at her home. With it she agreed:

"I well know, O Jehovah,
that man’s way does not belong to him.

It does not belong to man who is walking
even to direct his step." Jer. 10:23.

As she noticed mom had swept away
the fallen leaves from the stairs.
As a briskness slightly chilled the air.

Sabrina, closed the door gently.
Leaned her back against it while
silently prayed. Implored:

Jah,
"Let my steps stay on your tracks
So that my feet will not stumble." Ps. 17:5.

Remembered Proverbs 20:24:
"A man’s footsteps are directed by Jehovah;

How can a man understand his own way?"

And what is even more reassuring:

"Commit to Jehovah whatever you do,
And your plans will succeed." Proverbs 16:3.

Sabrina proceeded up to her room
her choices to explore... TO BE CONT'D.
