Famine No More
Famine No More
Famine.
Internationally
Scourges our land.
Often manmade.
Globally its span.
Rooted in war, envy, greed.
Children especially
Innocent victims
In terrible need.
Malnutrition, pestilence.
Ending in death.
While abundance elsewhere
Cries, "Injustice! Theft!"
But scales of justice
Balanced soon.
Although now a time
Of writhing gloom:
"There will be food shortages...
in one place after another." Matt. 24:7.
"But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." Pro. 18:24... Demonstrating love intense
Each for the other. 1 Pe. 4:8.
"Do not withhold good from those to whom you should give it
If it is within your power to help." Pro. 3:27.
In imitation of Christ
Who with empathy
Sympathy
Sincerely dealt:
"On seeing the crowds," he pity felt. Matt. 9:36.
So, under this Fine Shepherd's
Benevolent Reign
Poverty, malnutrition, famine,
Welfare systems disdained
Will be replaced
By means of the Messianic King
Who demonstrated on a small scale
An ability to feed
Thousands of hungry people
With loaves
Fish
Just a few.
Collecting baskets--'No waste'
When God’s Kingdom Government
Over the whole earth
Rules.
"There will be an abundance of grain on the earth;
On the top of the mountains it will overflow." Ps. 72:16.
