Sabrina immediately let go of Mr. Kang's front shirt
as nurses attending Wayne of them nimbly did skirt.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Kang.

Maybe you can tell me another time
out of Wayne's hearing.
But for now, we must be positive.
His moral not to hurt."

Although, Sabrina remembered
how sad she herself felt.
How difficult it was to control
her mind from going berserk.

For Sabrina had contrived in her vivid mind's eye
that Wayne's condition merited a diligent police search.
An investigation to try to discover a culprit
all the while intensely hoping that Wayne's injuries
would not actually cause him to die.

Although, wrapped in new bandages from shoulder to head
Wayne resembled a mummy to her already dead.

But slight moaning from him proved otherwise instead.

She eased to his side
lifted his hand from the hospital bed
while silently praying to heavens overhead:

Please, Jah,

Help Wayne recover from this tragic abuse
to recover his strength towards your work to use.

May he not be paralyzed.
Not discouraged for months on end be.

Let both he and Mr. Kang know
that this too is only temporary.

Mr. Kang, I felt at my side.
No longer that iron man
his emotions to hide.
With head limp
his weariness not to deride

Sabrina touched his arm so as to confide:

"Mr. Kang,

Wayne loves you greatly.
It was just difficult for him to decide
which way to proceed
his life cycle to ride.

But please be assured
of you he can't hate.
All choices were his
whether right or mistake.

He's a young man you've birthed in pride.

We both love him dearly.
So, let us wait patiently for him to heal
from outside before assisting him
with forthcoming miseries.

To help toss despondency aside.

For, “If you become discouraged in the day of distress,
your strength will be meager,” Pro. 24:10 does
in truth profess.

And we dearly need our rest.
For depending on Wayne's diagnosis
he may become thoroughly stressed."

Mr. Wayne agreed.

"Yes. What you say is best... I once knew a paralyzed man who confessed:

“I became deeply depressed.
My strength, courage, and power drained away... I felt ‘destroyed.’” His days filled with duress.

Sabrina nodded her assent
since her energy felt almost of itself spent.

Though convinced:
“By God we have life and move and exist.” Acts 17:28.
Tomorrow would be another day
Jah would her need to assist.

So Sabrina reminded herself to
“Never be anxious about the next day,
for the next day will have its own anxieties.” Mat. 6:34.

She'd pray for Wayne's recovery in speed.
Make him her high priority.

She'd also try to focus on positive thoughts,
because “A calm heart gives life to the body,”
Proverbs 14:30 says.

Especially, after initial feelings of despair,
Wayne would need all of their empathy to share
so as to bounce back; adapt; cope.

After much prayer
meditation on past examples of courage,
he'd start to see opportunities
instead of obstacles

in his hurdles ahead.

She thought back to a poem
she once wrote. Still standing next to Mr. Kang
she did to them softly quote
while Wayne's arm she gently stroked:

Hope In*

Why Lost, the little girl, lies a field crying
Among thorns, thistles, broken--not trying;
Yet, Despair, a cancerous lad confined
Smiles' radiate hearts of even the blind?

Lost believed her bubbles blown, flown, would last.
Til a hot sun popped each into a past.
While, Despair, held firm and staunch for a cure.
His faith and hope shown through eyes simply pure.

Bubbles lift up spirits briefly, then fade;
Since created of no substance solid.
But promises based on Truths, not Lies, made
Anchor souls through trials supremely horrid.

God foretold Endless life. God can Not die.
On Earth in paradise. God "can Not lie."
So "Hope in Jehovah; be Courageous."... Wayne
"Let your heart be strong." Then again: Your Joy contagious... TO BE CONT'D
